Frequently Asked Questions


How long are your leases? Most of our leases are for 12 months.  If you are looking for a shorter term, then please let us know when submitting your application.

Do I need good credit to be in your program? We do not expect perfect credit. The better your credit the easier it will be to get you approved. If you have some credit issues, that is OK. We are mostly looking for ability to pay and a stable rental history. If you have a credit score below 600 then in most cases we will need to collect 1st months rent, last months rent, and a deposit.

What type of income do I need to qualify? Although we look at several factors during the application process, one key determinant is making sure the home fits within your budget. We ask that your rental amount is not greater then 38% of your monthly income.

How much is the deposit? Our deposits are the same amount as the monthly rent.

Do you allow pets? Not all of our owners allow pets. Please fill out the pet application if you have a pet that will be joining you on your move. Our standard pet deposit is $500.  This is a refundable deposit if there is no pet damage after your move out.

Can I smoke in the house? No all of our homes are non smoking homes. Please ask us about this prior to submitting an application.

How can I see a property? Most of our properties have lock boxes on the door.  Please call our office to gain access to our properties.

Are you open on the weekends? Although our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, our team is available 7 days a week. Feel free to contact us on our main number 251-967-1018.  After hours or on weekends we will return your call same day if you leave a message.

How do I get approved for a home?

Thank you for choosing Long Term Rental Group.  Our application process is simple. Please fill out our appliaction (under application link).  It is very important that all information provided is true.  Any false information may result in eviction.

 

Each adult that will be living in the home will need to fill out an application. Each adult will also need to be on the lease. We do a full credit check on each applicant. Please include the NON REFUNDABLE application fee of $20.00 plus $5.00 for each additional adult that will be living in the house. An application for each adult living in the house is required. Your application will not be processed until the fee has been paid.

Step 1: Fill out an application. Our applications are available in each of our homes, in our office, on our website and on the drop box outside of our office. Once completed, please either drop it off at our office in person or in our 24 hour box, email the application to info@longtermrentalgroup.com or fax to our office at 251-974-1782.

Step 2: We strive to approve all applications the same day we receive them during the weekdays. Once we have completed the application process, we will contact you with the results.

Step 3: Let's sign a lease!  We will schedule a time to go over the leasing documents and have you sign the lease.

Step 4: After signing the lease we will need you to have all utilities put into your name.  Once you return with copies from the utility company, you will be issued a key.
